Tuesday 30th August 2016<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Weather:<\/strong>\u00a0Gorgeous morning \u2013 bright and sunny<\/p>\n

Our final day in San Francisco and just a couple of hours left before we needed to check out of our hotel and head to the airport.<\/p>\n

Must admit, The Argonaut does Customer Service very well. \u00a0A complimentary extra hour in the room free of charge before checking out, and rather than book us a taxi, they reserved one of the hotel Mercedes to take us to the airport for the same price as a normal taxi.<\/p>\n

First things first, and breakfast. \u00a0After talking to the sisters on Grand Princess, we decided to check out Johnny Rockets. \u00a0A 50s style diner more or less opposite Pier 39.<\/p>\n

Breakfast was good and afterwards we crossed the road to say farewell to the sea lions. \u00a0The were on great form this morning. \u00a0Shouting and pushing each other off the floating platforms!<\/p>\n

Back to the hotel to finish off packing and sort ourselves out ready for our flight home. \u00a0With luggage in the safe keeping at the hotel, we decided to try the Blue Mermaid out for lunch – it’s part of the Argonaut and share the same Cannery Courtyard as Jacks Bar. Burgers for Jon and Callum and a Panini and salad for me. \u00a0Hopefully that would keep us all going until we were on board our flight home.<\/p>\n

The journey back to the airport was straightforward and no delays. \u00a0Suitcases dropped off and straight through security. \u00a0So far, so good. \u00a0The earlier BA flight hadn’t yet departed so we found some seats looking over the runways and watched the planes come in. \u00a0The early BA plane was just taxi-ing out to the runway, when we spotted our plane coming into land.<\/p>\n

We had chosen to fly home on an A380 – the double decker plane. \u00a0We had seats on the lower deck as we heard there was more room as you don’t need to contend with the sloping roof. \u00a0However, legroom (for me anyway) was not good – my knees were digging in the back of the seat in front before any seats were reclined. \u00a0As always, the person in the seat in front was quick to recline his seat – even before the seat belt sign went out and it remained that way for the duration of the flight.<\/p>\n
