Friday 13th April 2012<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Weather:<\/strong> Overcast all day with little glimpses of sunshine
\nSea Conditions:<\/strong> Bumpy overnight and a gently rocking movement all day<\/p>\n

We thought it had disappeared off the schedule \u2026 but the dreaded Fancy Dress Day was here.\u00a0 Costumes to be made in Kids Club in the morning followed by the show in Manhattan later this afternoon.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>We all had a lie in this morning \u2026 Callum was the only one of us who had a good nights sleep last night with the rocking and rolling of the ship.\u00a0 Callum woke up just before 9am so we quickly got ready and had breakfast in the main dining room.\u00a0 The swell was still 2-3 metres, motion discomfort bags were still dotted around the place but we were hopefully the swell would die down before we hit the Bay of Biscay.\u00a0 Jon was once more happy that it actually felt like you were at sea!\u00a0 With the exception of the \u201cLido \/ Pool\u201d areas midships, all other outside decks (including the Prom Deck) were closed for safety.<\/p>\n

After Breakfast, we headed to Kids Club to make Callum\u2019s Fancy Dress outfit.\u00a0 He decided (with a little persuasion from us!) to go as a zebra.\u00a0 Jon was in charge of putting the stripes on his costume whilst I made the mane and tail.\u00a0 20 minutes later we were done and Callum could get back to watching \u201cCars\u201d without us interrupting him!<\/p>\n

We headed to the Atrium for the \u201cInside Azura\u201d.\u00a0 The ship made from towels was back on display as were a variety of animals made from towels and napkin displays.\u00a0 It was packed so we didn\u2019t stay long.\u00a0 We opted to grab a coffee in The Glass House instead (as Java was busy as it was in Atrium).<\/p>\n

We opted to go to Sindhu for lunch as the alternate Nashta menu had kicked in.\u00a0 Callum went for Chicken with Onion & Ginger, Prawns & Pineapple and Lamb Samosa\u2019s, Jon the Chicken, Prawns and Red Onion Bhajis whilst I had the Samosas, Bhajis and Fish Brochettes.<\/p>\n

After lunch, the finishing touches needed to be put to Callum\u2019s costume (i.e. face painted!) and then it was down to Manhattan for the Fancy Dress Competition.\u00a0 There must have been 50 children taking part and they only had an hour!\u00a0 For the first time ever, no parent seemed to have spent all day in the fancy dress making room.\u00a0 There were some fab outfits \u2026 a gondolier and a one armed bandit (these two eventually won). The other really good one was a bunch of grapes. Plenty of fairies, butterflies, pirates and flamenco dancers.<\/p>\n

After the Fancy Dress Competition, we took Callum up to the Planet Bar and managed to get seats overlooking the wake.\u00a0 Callum had a Bananaberry Smoothie and worked out his Where\u2019s Wally Book.\u00a0 Quite a few older kids were up here too but the place was much quieter than usual (and the bar was open early too).<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

Kids tea then back to cabin for a bath to get rid of his Zebbie face and then back to Kids Club for the evening.<\/p>\n

Another formal night tonight and a gala dinner in the Main Dining Room this evening.\u00a0 We were sat with the two couples from Swansea\/High Wycombe again, but this time I sat next to the other gentleman.\u00a0 The other couple were from Bristol and we\u2019d sat with at breakfast on the first morning.<\/p>\n

The foursome had decided they were going to \u201ccomplete\u201d the menu for the first time this hols (eating something from every course).\u00a0 Jon and I were very boring and chose the same things \u2013 Prawn Cocktail, Chicken Consomme, Champagne Sorbet and Beef Wellington. We couldn\u2019t manage a pudding but the Sachertorte and Baked Alaska looked fab.\u00a0 We settled for Cheese and Biscuits instead.<\/p>\n

The topic of conversation was sailing and the foursome had sailed extensively around the Croatian coast.\u00a0 Tradir, Hvar and a few other places they said were fabulous \u2013 I think these are places you\u2019re going to on Adonia in July, Mum.<\/p>\n

Back to the cabin this evening and Joftan had created an elephant out of towels.\u00a0 Callum is loving these creations \u2026 he\u2019ll be expecting one each evening on his bed when we get home!<\/p>\n
