At Sea – North of Algeria<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Weather:<\/strong> Bright and sunny all day
Sea Conditions:<\/strong> A few white crests in the morning but otherwise flat<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Yet another morning where we needed to wake Callum up for breakfast.  Callum decided he didn\u2019t want to do the Noddy Breakfast, just normal breakfast this morning.<\/p>\n\n\n

This morning the sun was shining from the word go \u2013 no fog or mist in sight.  Everyone was heading for the sun decks!  Azura had an awful lot of sea to cover in two days so we were travelling at 21.9 knots (must be nearly full speed for this size of ship).<\/p>\n\n\n

Callum went to Kids Club, whilst Jon and I opted for the wine tasting.  The wines were the same as the last cruise, but the host, Al, was brilliant.  Very much in the Olly Smith style of presenting and his tales of how he became the Sommelier onboard were brilliant.  We tasted two whites, The Albarino <\/strong>and the FMC <\/strong>and two reds, the Planeta <\/strong>and the Chateau Latour<\/strong> (the most expensive wine onboard at \u00a312\/glass).  The FMC was still my favourite.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callum again had the choice of where to go for lunch and chose the Glass House.  The menu had changed so no Bison Burger much to Callum\u2019s regret \u2026 so we just chose a couple of tasting plates \u2026 Prawns, Bruschetta and Hummous and Pitta Breads.<\/p>\n\n\n

Callum told us he had to be back in Kids Club for 3pm this afternoon as they were doing a Jungle Trek around the ship.  He found elephant footprints and snake prints too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sun was on our balcony this afternoon so we sat out in the sun and caught up on some reading for a couple of hours.  When it started to get cold, we moved up to the Planet Bar and sat overlooking the wake.  Great fun to pretend your reading whilst ear-wigging into fellow passengers conversations!  One section of the bar was closed off for a private function – a wedding.<\/p>\n\n\n

Callum wanted to go to Kids Club this evening as they had an \u201cI\u2019m a Surfer, Get Me Out of Here\u201d event on \u2026 swimming costumes and towels were needed!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Formal night tonight and we decided to eat in the main restaurant.  We were on a table for 8.  One couple alas made a hasty departure after the soup course as one of them was feeling unwell (else it was our company!) but the other two were good company.  One couple were from Cornwall and the other from Somerset.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Food was actually really good tonight.  I had the Black Pudding (Jon the Poached Salmon Cocktail), Ham Hock soup to follow, then I had the lamb (and Jon the Tuna).  I even had a pudding (Strawberry Millefeuille).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We collected Callum from Kids Club after the meal \u2013 Jungle Book was playing but he wasn\u2019t really too fussed about it.  Jon and Callum were asleep as soon as their heads hit the pillow.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I had got really into my book \u201cThe Help<\/strong>\u201d by Kathryn Stockett<\/a>) during the day and wanted to finish it.  An hour or so later, I\u2019d finished \u2013 it\u2019s a great book, brilliantly written and now would like to see the film adaptation.<\/p>\n
