Saturday 6th October<\/h3>\n

Today was a wet and damp day.\u00a0 One good thing about the rain, is that it showed there was a problem with one of the Velux windows.\u00a0 It was leaking!<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

With the plaster still drying out, it was difficult to tell if any other areas were also letting water in.\u00a0 Photos taken so we could try and figure out if any other areas needed a little bit of attention.\u00a0 It looked as though the flat roof area was letting water in.\u00a0 There was meant to be a slight slope on the flat roof, but no rain water was draining off and just settling where it fell on the roof.\u00a0 Worse, it looked as though water was getting though from the marks on the ceiling plaster.\u00a0 Frustrating as we have been telling the builder and the architect all along that the roof needed a slope and both were telling us there was one!\u00a0 If anything, there is a ridge a couple of inches before the edge that’s stopping the water from draining off.<\/p>\n

Friday 5th October<\/h3>\n

Quieter day today – Malcolm just in in the morning to plaster the final wall in the study and the plasterboard wall in the garage.<\/p>\n

Thursday 4th October<\/h3>\n

Malcolm and Shaun back in action today – Shaun made a start on the downstairs study whilst Malcolm finished off the extension.\u00a0 Meanwhile, the plastering completed on Tuesday was drying out nicely.<\/p>\n

Wednesday 3rd October<\/h3>\n

Malcolm back today along with another chap called Shaun.\u00a0 They cracked on with the plastering today – Shaun on stilts finishing the ceiling whilst Malcolm tackled more walls.<\/p>\n

Tuesday 2nd October<\/h3>\n

Just Malcolm on site this today – he made a start with plastering the extension.\u00a0 First job was to plaster the sections where the plasterboard met to ensure a smooth finish.\u00a0 Then the walls by the bifold doors and the kitchen area.<\/p>\n

Monday 1st October<\/h3>\n

As it was dark when we got back home on Sunday, we could see the progress that had been made.\u00a0 The floor had hardened and could be walked on and Malcolm had been in putting the beading up on the edges ready for plastering.<\/p>\n

I also dived out to have a look at some tiles and also some paint.\u00a0 Jon wasn’t too impressed with some of my tile choices.\u00a0 Not sure if I am going to be allowed Pink as a contrast colour in the new downstairs bathroom.<\/p>\n
