Jon had taken a couple of days off over Easter so we headed up to Oxford for the day to do the City, Tower and Meadows Treasure Trail<\/a><\/strong>. We caught the train into Reading, then hopped on another into Oxford.<\/p>\n\n\n

It was then a 20 minute walk from the station into the town centre to find the clock for the start of the trail. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We started off walking through the city centre, some parts we had walked through previously but others parts we hadn’t previously explored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Some of the buildings were incredibly old but really well preserved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We passed an interesting pub where Shakespeare allegedly stayed and there were some interesting paintings of Harry and Megan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We walked past some of the famous Colleges of Oxford University and eventually wandered over Magdalen Bridge – where the students traditionally jump off to celebrate May Day. The water was incredibly shallow so you can see why the powers that be try to stop this.<\/p>\n\n\n

Even though we were in the city, we suddenly found ourselves in the tranquil surroundings by a small river, which wended its way around and flowed into the Isis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Treasure Trail complete and we popped into The Crown for a quick drink (thirsty work!). We headed home mid afternoon (football practise beckoned)<\/p>\n
