A lazy start to our last day on board Azura. Callum had another lie in and our thoughts turned to packing up.<\/p>\n\n\n

The Great British Sailaway was rearranged for late morning – and the sun was shining. A little odd with the sailaway taking place mid-Bay of Biscay but no-one was complaining!<\/p>\n\n\n

Sailaway over and we treated Callum to the Glass House for our last lunch on board. He carefully studied the menu and chose the Bison Burger (we were meant to share this!). He wanted to know how big it would be – HUGE – said Dad!<\/p>\n\n\n

After lunch, we did a couple of “laps” around the prom deck to walk off lunch. Then Jon took Callum to the farewell party whilst I packed our cases up ready to stick out in the corridor later that evening. <\/p>\n\n\n

I checked and double checked we have everything put to one side that that we needed to wear the next morning … underwear, tops, bottoms, shoes! And got Jon to double check when he got back after the kids club event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Callum suprised us this evening by wanting to eat with us this evening. We decided to go to Verona and again, Callum carefully studied the menu. Calamari followed by pizza! Meanwhile, Jon and I went for the fillet steak you cook yourself on a lavastone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After dinner, Callum went up to Kids Club for an hour or so, whilst we wandered by Malabar where they had a couple of singers. One of them we recognised at Lewis (from TV Show “Any Dream Will Do” to search for a lead star for Joseph & the Technicolour Dreamcoat) and another lady who had the most amazing voice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to the cabin to check AGAIN we had everything we needed for the following day, and put the cases out in the corridor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Cabin E731 <\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Jon’s dream is to have a cabin at the back of the ship … unless we splashed out on a suite (ha!), this was the closest we could get on Azura unless we got a balcony cabin with a pullman instead of the sofa bed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cabin is very spacious. There is a queen bed, desk, walk-in wardrobe and bathroom in the front part of the cabin. A large settee (can seat at least 3 adults comfortably) which converts to a double bed of an evening. A central console unit with fridge and storage wraps around both areas. Patio doors open out onto a double-width balcony. On E deck, the balcony is shaded – covered by the balcony from the deck above.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The bathroom was a good size with plenty of storage space … although the taller people do end up having to bend backwards to get under the shower!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s in a quiet location – the only other cabins accessed from the corridor are the three aft cabins. No other passing passengers. Lifts are conveniently located just up the corridor. You go down just one flight of stairs to get to the Prom Deck so very easy to access the ship from here. Muster station is Manhattan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We heard no noise coming up from the deck below (we were directly above Manhattan) and we were back in our cabin before 11pm most evenings. the equivalent cabin on other side (E730) is a different matter – people were complaining about the noise coming up from Manhattan as this cabin was right above the speakers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The cabin isn’t completely quiet through – you are right above the propellers so there is a background “hum”. At night, you can feel the vibrations coming up through the wall too (make sure you pull the bed away from the wall a little).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Would we have this cabin again? Absolutely (in fact we’ve already got it booked for our next cruise!). Not sure about these cabins on D Deck as these balconies are completely overlooked from above. Never say never – we’ll reserve judgement until we tried it!<\/p>\n
