When our tickets to see “Curtains” at the Mayflower back in 2020 were cancelled due to COVID, we took a credit note instead of a refund. The deadline to book tickets using these vouchers was approaching so we needed to decide what we were going to see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Jon is a Dan Brown fan and loves the films The Da Vinci Code and Angels & Demons, so when The Mayflower Theatre were showing the stage version of The Da Vinci Code, we were intrigued and booked tickets. How would they adapt the book and film over to the stage. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In end, we drove down to Basingstoke and caught the train to Southampton from there. The timings weren’t working from home to Southampton with engineering work. In Southampton, the station is a stones throw away from the theatre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The set was very simple – frames and projections onto the backdrop was all that was needed. Not a huge number of actors either – most doubled up on roles too. Callum was happy though – Danny John Jules (Dwayne in Death in Paradise) would be starring – he was worried his understudy would be featuring!<\/p>\n\n\n
