Cheltenham: Move In Day

Read Time:1 Minute, 49 Second

Jon was adamant Callum would NOT be moving into his Uni Halls of Residence on Friday 13th (tempting fate!), so we were packed up ready to drop Callum off on Thursday 12th instead.

First challenge was getting everything into the car AND fit Callum into the back seat! It took a bit of juggling but we got there in the end!

It took us an hour and 20 minutes to reach the McDonalds on the outskirts of Cheltenham for breakfast then another 15 minutes to reach his Halls of Residence. It’s all really well organised. Callum needed to pick up his card from reception (along with the all important ice cream voucher!) then we headed over to where Jon had parked his car.

With our new trusty trolley, we quickly unloaded and got everything into Callum’s new home until next Summer. Two others had already moved in and seemed very friendly.

First to inspect his room to see if there was any damage. The odd few marks as you’d expect. Impressed that Callum gets the benefit of a brand new mattress!

With everything dropped off in the room, we headed out to find a supermarket. The girls said there was a Tescos close by so we headed there. First things first, lunch in Costa then for a food shop for Callum. He had a shelf in the fridge and a shelf in the freezer so we couldn’t go too mad. He also had a shelf in a cupboard, but there was space in his room to store some dry food as long as this was in sealed packages.

Back to the flat, we helped Callum unpack and get settled in. A couple of things we’d forgotten about but nothing that we couldn’t bring next weekend. Birthday presents left on the top shelf so he had some presents and cards to open next week.

It was getting late – we left Callum to meet and get to know his new flatmates and we headed home. Five more were arriving in the coming days. The uni accommodation was really modern and comfortable and our fingers crossed Callum would have a good first year at university.
