Read Time:1 Minute, 25 Second

A day out with Janine and her boys and we headed south to Winchester to do another Treasure Trail. Callum and I had done the Cathedral and Castle trail previously (really good!) so this time we opted for the Cathedral and City Treasure Trail.

Winchester is a fab city but car parking in the centre can be a little tricky with the one way system, few car parks and high parking charges. We opted for the park and ride. The St Catherine’s Park and Ride was very easy to find and it was pretty empty. It cost just £3 for us to park the car and for five of us to get bus into the centre of town. Absolute bargain.

It took just 5-10 minutes to get in from the Park & Ride … and today’s trail started at the Guildhall and took us through the park, along the river and the lanes before walking around the cathedral. A very picturesque walk and some clues that were a little tricky to work out.

After finishing the trail, we wandered around for a bit to find somewhere everyone would be happy to eat at … and ended up back at the Broadway restaurant at the Guildhall for something to eat.

it was a bit of a weird place. We were the only ones in … and the people that owned the bar was different to the to people that owned the restaurant. Two separate bills followed!! Broadway was the bar … Mii Asian Kitchen was the restaurant!

We discovered that Rick Stein has a restaurant in Winchester so may have to come back with Jon for a meal once Callum heads off to University! Ssshh, don’t tell Callum!!
