London: Treasure Trail & Mousetrap

Read Time:1 Minute, 10 Second

A trip into London ahead of Jon’s 50th Birthday. The plan was to complete a Treasure Trail followed by The Mousetrap – Agatha Christie’s record-breaking whodunnit.

The Treasure Trail started at Charing Cross Station and would take us in and around Trafalgar Square and past some of London’s old historic pubs.

This was the first time we didn’t finish a Treasure Trail – the last six clues were somewhere in Trafalgar Square. We solved two but the other four we couldn’t find. Trafalgar Square was really busy with tourists and whether they were sat covering up clues or stood on top of them, we don’t know. It was the least favourite of all the trails we’ve undertaken so far.

The Mousetrap was in its 67th Year – it holds the record for the longest running production in London … and probably the entire world.

Callum was really excited when he found out what we were going to see. Anyone could be the murderer!

We were in the audience for the 27,831st show.

We all enjoyed it … Jon guessed who the murderer was.

After the show, we headed to Seven Dials. We were going to try the Mexican restaurant, La Cantina Lorada [update: sadly now closed], a recommendation of my friend, Sue. All the guacamole is freshly prepared at your table and it was good. All the food was really good – and we’re sure we’ll be back.
