Our first ever stay in a Holiday Property Bond property and we’d headed over to Kent. It’s an area of England we hadn’t ventured to before so it would be a good opportunity to explore.
With nephew at uni in Canterbury, my brother had told us it takes an age to get to – expect 4 hours plus so we were very happy with clear motorways and two and a half hours later we’d arrived at Sibton Park, Lyminge.
There are about 41 apartments/houses here and we were staying in Cottage 17 called Rhubarb. Our cottage was in the style of a traditional Kentish Cottage – white wooden slats on the outside. We were pleasantly surprised. A double bedroom with narrow en suite, twin bedroom, main bathroom and cosy TV room were on the ground floor. Upstairs was a well appointed kitchen, living area and great views across the walled garden, tennis courts and fields beyond. Probably some of the nicest views in the complex.
We quickly unloaded and found room for most things in the kitchen. It’s a good size fridge with freezer underneath. With temperatures dropping in the evening, we’re also storing some bottles and cans on the window ledge outside (there’s a wall so nothing can drop onto the path below!).
Only Freeview on the TV so Jon had to quickly figure out how to stream Sky Sports onto the TV – Newcastle were playing Bournemouth; Jon and Callum hoping for a win.
For tea, we it was the quick and easy option – Chinese takeaway (China China). Quick search for the menu online and phoned the order through. 35-40 mins wait (not like the usual 5-10 minutes you get from the Szechuan at home). It was really busy when we arrived to pick up – all very well organised.
Food was pretty good and one to remember if we come back and stay again.
