Easter Holidays and we’d planned a day out. We didn’t want to head too far, so decided to head into Maidenhead. Jon’s office was based here for 10+ years so it was an opportunity to see more of the town.
Callum was happy we decided to go by train – he insisted we caught the Elizabeth line to Maidenhead … just to try it!
With hindsight, it was a big mistake – the Maidenhead Riverside Treasure Trail we were completing, was the other side of Maidenhead and it was a 30-45 mins walk away.
The walk took us along the riverside and exploring some of the lanes featuring very expensive houses. The trail took us over to Ray Mill Island – a total surprise and a little peaceful oasis on the outskirts of a busy town.
