Cape Town Bound
We spent Wednesday packing and getting ready for our flight to Cape Town. Callum was getting very excited to be going back on a plane again. As Dad couldn’t drive us to the airport after a nasty fall, Janine and the boys very kindly stepped in to help (thanks Janine!). The motorway was quite busy at it was rush hour but we were there for 6.30pm. Thanks Janine!

Our flight wasn’t until 9.30pm and we didn’t have lounge access (Callum very disappointed on that score!). I let Callum decide where we would eat before catching our flight. It boiled down to Wagamamas or Giraffe. Wagamamas won as Daddy wasn’t with us. Callum ordered Chicken & Prawn Phad Thai whilst I went for my usual Beef Teriyaki Soba. Service wasn’t particularly great – Callum had finished his Phad Thai before my main arrived, and my glass of wine arrived after that!
Boarding was very straightforward and we were sat in a block of three seats. Our travelling companion for the journey was a lady in her 70’s, returning back to SA as her sister had just died. She told Callum to give her a gentle nudge if she started snoring! She didn’t.
Callum settled down to watch the Spongebob film which he found really funny. He didn’t want any dinner (not surprising given what he’d eaten for tea). Once the film had finished, he settled down to sleep. I followed soon after and we both dozed for most of the 12 hour flight to Cape Town.
