No photos taken today – that must be a first!! Today was all about quizzing and just enjoying being at sea.
First up was the morning themed quiz; Myths & Legends quiz in Brodies. We tied joint top with 17 points so had to go to the tie breaker … in which year was the game Dungeons and dragons launched. We said 1969 and the other team 1982. Actual year was 1974 so we won. Bit of drama at the end as another team tried to claim the win with 18 points as they thought it was an individual quiz. After combining their answer sheets, they scored 18 points but were ruled ineligible as they marked their own papers. For the first time ever on a cruise we won a couple of gold stickers!! Woo-hoo!!
We switched things up for lunch today and decided to go to the Main dining room. Callum & Jon had the Chickpea and Chorizo Soup and I settled for the vegan Pink Grapefruit and Avocado Salad. Jon and I then had the Tuna and Sweetcorn baguette with chips whilst Callum went for the Southern Fried Chicken bap with chips and bbq sauce.
After lunch there was a TV Theme Tunes quiz in Brodies followed by the Syndicate Quiz. We scored 13/20 and finished Joint 2nd. We would have finished joint top if Callum and Jon hadn’t overruled my hovercraft answer. My guess of John Lowe as the World Champion with the nickname Stone Face was inspired. None of us had heard of that nickname previously.
We popped down to the Main Dining Room for Dinner: Callum and I had the Chicken Satay starter whilst Jon enjoyed the Tomato Soup. Jon and Callum had the Mushroom Risotto whilst I couldn’t resist the Lamb Rump. For dessert, I stuck with the cheese plate, Jon went for a cherry dessert and Callum just opted for Ice Cream.
We then retired to Brodies – there was sport showing on the TVs. First up was the Brodies Challenge followed by the Great British Comedy Quiz.
We were officially quizzed out!
