The Vyne, Hampshire

An afternoon trip out to The Vyne today – a National Trust property located in Sherborne St John, near Basingstoke.

It’s currently undergoing a major renovation and having the entire roof of the property replaced.  Instead of closing the property down whilst the work is progressing, they have added a walkway so you can see the works progressing throughout the year.  It should be completed by the end of 2017.

The entire house has scaffolding erected around it and a giant tarpaulin over the top to protect the roof from the elements until work is complete.

As you would expect, the inside of the house is all bit crammed with the upper floors out of action and a selection of exhibits on display on the ground floor.

The grounds are also lovely to walk around and plenty of colour.
