A day out with friends visiting Cliveden. We had plans to do a nature trail and see the snowdrops! Cliveden is synonymous with Christine Keeler and the Profumo Affair.
We timed our arrival to perfection – a place had become free in the main car park so we avoided the trapse over to the overflow car park (which then over spilled onto the entry road up to the main car park).

First off was the Orienteering course that took us around part of the grounds. From here, a quick pitstop for a bite to eat before finding the snowdrop walk and exploring the grounds near the house. The house was closed as there was a function taking place but the outside was pretty spectacular.

The golden gates are in the process of being restored and they look very impressive.

From here we continued to walk around the grounds and found the snowdrops. This was being marketed as a big thing, with tens of thousands of bulbs being plants. Having been to Welford this year, this display was a little underwhelming. Just a few clumps by the sides of the paths. I love snowdrops and they are very pretty but it’s not a display that compares to Welford.

We did have a good walk around the grounds – would be lovely to come back in the Summer once all the plants are in bloom. I did manage to get my photo for Photo Club.
