Staying locally in the area for a cheap day out, there’s not a lot that can beat a trip to Donnington Castle. It’s free so we tend to take a picnic and let the kids run around for a bit. There’s plenty of room. If they take a ball, they will go home very tired from running down and back up the hill to retrieve the ball!
