Gran Canaria, Canary Islands
Weather: Sunny
The first of the three Canary Islands we were calling at. Once again we were up bright and early in time to see our arrival into port. Not as picturesque as our previous stop – our view overlooked the more industrial side of the port along with the pilot boats, lifeboat and a couple of other ships!

We walked the short distance from the ship to shore and jumped on the Hop On Hop Off Red Buses – Callum was really pleased we managed to sit up top. He wasn’t quite his usual self so we needed to keep an eye on him today.

We got off to try and find the Pueblo Canarias (but failed!) so jumped back on to have a look around the old quarter which was very picturesque.

Callum found some statues of the Canary Island Dogs (and had to have his photo taken with each … with each dog wearing his England hat!!).

A drinks break was needed and we found another little cafe and still the bill was less than Euro 5 for three drinks!!

Back on the bus to the port … Callum’s learning well from Jon. He was really starving so we couldn’t have a look around the shops, we had to go back on board for lunch!! We actually made it to the Buffet lunch today for some soup and salad. Afterwards, Callum headed off to Frontiers for an hour or so before Kids Tea and the sailaway party around the Aqua Pool.

Once more the Main Dining Menu wasn’t terribly exciting so we ended up at The Glass House to eat. I sampled the lamb burger whilst Jon had the fillet steak. Off to collect Callum afterwards and back to the cabin. We’ve had more early nights on this cruise than we’ve had all year!!
