Chippenham Treasure Trail

Over the years, we’ve discovered untold hidden gems by exploring cities, towns and villages with Treasure Trails – even those places on our doorstep. At the start of the year, Treasure Trails released an offer. A years worth of Treasure Trails (one a month) for £50. They are usually £9.99 each. We decided to buy the offer – so we’ll hopefully be exploring a few new places this year.

For our first Treasure Trail of the year, we decided to head to Chippenham. A historic town that none of us had previously been to.

It was a little tricky finding a car park. We first ended up at a supermarket car park but couldn’t stay for as long as we wanted to. Eventually, we found our way to the recommended car park on the Treasure Trail which was close to the first clue.

As expected, the trail took was around the town. On our drive in, we went under the railway bridge – Chippenham was on the GWR mainline from Paddington. The trail took us under this impressive stone and brick viaduct, designed by Isambard Kingdom Brunel.

The town was larger than we were expecting and a mix of old and more modern buildings. The trail took us through the park and back into the town.

Once the trail was completed, we added another Lounge to our eateries – The Rivo Lounge (sister restaurant to the Cobrizio Lounge in Newbury). This time, it was the Indian Inspired Bombay Burger for all of us … and the obligatory milkshake for Callum!
