Start of the school holidays and we decided to do some more exploring. There was another art trail running across Southampton and Winchester called “Hares of Hampshire”.
We decided to go by train and booked a room in the Premier Inn West Quay for the night and would head up to Winchester the next day. Luckily, when we went to drop our bags off, our room was ready.
Much of the trail would take us around the Old Historic part of the city. Armed with a map, we tried to plot a circular route to save doubling back on ourselves.

Starting point was West Quay Shopping Centre, just across the road from the hotel and we would then drop down and follow the Old City Walls and loop back into town.
Lots of Hares to find. Some where very elaborately decorated. Others were pretty plain and lacking inspiration.
It was really warm out, and we took the opportunity to have a drink at The Dancing Man Brewery. We’d driven and walked past the place on numerous occasions and it looked intriguing inside.
Our favourite hare of today. Without doubt, the Doctor Who themed one. All the Doctors featured on the hare including the newly announced Doctor, played by Jodie Whitaker.
We were a little too late to get up close to the final hare – it was behind closed doors in a museum. A shame as from what we could see through the window, rather than being painted, it looked as though it had been fashioned or covered in leather.
Dinner this evening was at Turtle Bay – another really nice meal.
