Sea Day
Weather: Overcast, brightening up in the afternoon
Sea: Calm
Breakfast as usual this morning down in Medina followed by the themed quiz in Champions. This time the theme was colours and we ended up with 16/20 – joint top with 2 other teams.
Tie-breaker was how many colours can be displayed on an 8-bit device. The others said 128 and 256 … whereas our computer experts said 8192. It was 256 so missed out on our first quiz win!

Jon and Callum had booked themselves onto the Aurora Behind the Scenes Tour today. They headed off at 12.30pm, so mum and I headed off to the Glass House for a bite to eat. Three tasting plates each and a glass of the Sunset Blush we’ve enjoyed.

Peninsular Club Party tonight – we headed off to the Crows Nest for 7.30pm and listened to the Loyalty team and Captain’s speeches. We only managed to get 1 glass of bubbles each – the waiters were not very quick at keeping people topped up. The only passengers being topped up were those sat in the upper area, closest to the bar. Most loyal travellers were an elderly couple who had clocked up over 1,000 nights on board P&O, with more than half their cruises on Aurora. They were presented with a signed ships model (wonder how many they’ve got!) Need to find out how many nights Mum has clocked up … and get her a few more cruises booked up!

We left after the speeches and headed down to Medina – it was really quiet in the dining room, and were seated straight away.
A post-dinner drink in Andersons – we time this really well as we arrive before the rush and never had a problem finding a table. We remembered we still had our sailaway vouchers for a free glass of bubbles so drinks were on the house!
Syndicate Quiz tonight was evil – Estelle said it would be an she wasn’t wrong. We ended the night on 6 points!! Joint winners on 9 points – tie-breaker question was how tall in feet are the letters in the Hollywood sign. The team that said 50ft were closest – the other team said 500ft. The answer was 45 feet.
One final photo before bedtime – still not really getting dark at midnight!
