Sea Day
Weather: Overcast
Sea: Calm
Our day started off as usual – breakfast in Medina. This was followed by the themed quiz – this time the subject was the Three Sciences. Not a bad effort – 17 points out of 20. The winners got 19 points. Weather outside was overcast with a little breeze.

Mum and I had the Wine Tasting in the Glass House this morning. Several people were running late so timings were pushed back. We sampled the Peller Ice Rose, then 2 white wines and 2 red wines. Pretty decent measures. My favourite was the last one. We shared a table with a couple we’d breakfasted with at the start of the cruise and they were good company.
Afterwards, we popped up to the buffet for something to eat. Jon and Callum eventually caught us back up … they arrived back in the cabin with an ice-cream each! In the afternoon we headed up to the Crows Nest for a coffee and plenty of seats available. It’s quite the place for people to gather … and lots of folk were catching 40 winks whilst reading their books!
Carcassonne was played and Jon excelled himself by winning his second game in a row.
Tonight we had another table booked in Sindhu. As the earliest I could book a table was 8:15pm, we decided to have a drink in Andersons before hand. Sindhu close by so not too far to walk. We were seated at the same table as before in Sindhu. A shame it was the same menu as our first night, but it did give us the option to try the other dishes.
Callum and Jon went for the beef on Paratha Bread, Mum the chicken and I the lamb chops. For mains, Mum opted to have the duck again and Callum the 1/2 chicken. Jon and I went for the signature plate – Salmon Curry, Chicken Curry and Lamb Rogan Josh. The salmon and the sauce was amazing.
Callum surprised us and joined us for a glass of wine with the meal!
For puddings, Callum and Mum went for Kulfi (3 different flavours of Ice cream), Jon the trio of chocolates and I went for the Berry and Yoghurt mousse – really lovely.

Syndicate Quiz we made an appalling start – getting just 1 of the first 5 questions right. We then made up ground to end the night on 10 points – joint top with 2 other teams.
The tie-breaker question was in what year did the British Prime Minister take up residency at 10 Downing Street. We answered 1831 and the other teams were 1902 and 1910.
As it was in 1735, even though we were nearly 100 years off, we won the bottle of wine … and would start tomorrows quiz on -1 points.
Callum hit the midnight buffet but for once decided he only wanted a Hot Chocolate and a couple of cookies. Thankfully not a second dinner.
