Friday 12th October
Steven made a start on the flooring this morning – a bit of time spent working out where best to start and how the floorboards should meet was time well spent. It did look really nice.
Some of the holes and uneven floor levels needed to be levelled and filled ready to crack on with the flooring next week. Jimmy also put the radiators on the wall although didn’t connect them up so they could be easily removed for when Ronnie came back to do the decorating. Typically, Jon noticed over the weekend that the small radiator was wrong. Although the dispatch note said “double”, only a single radiator was delivered!

Thursday 11th October
Flooring arrived this morning! The delivery guy would only delivery as far as the driveway(!) so Steven very kindly popped over to bring into the house.
Wednesday 10th October
More appliances due today! The fridge and the freezer. No other work taking place today as there was nothing the guys could be getting on with.
A little bit of rain today – and it looked as though the velux window was still leaking.
Tuesday 9th October
A slightly stressed Robbie arrived at lunchtime with his earlier job overrunning. First job was to block up all the windows so the spray didn’t get onto the frames – he used a thin corregated plastic (correx) – fabulous stuff!
He then had to dash off as his machine broke – arrived back and the mist coat was applied in no time at all (it took him longer to prep the rooms, than to coat it).
It made a real difference to the room.

Dishwasher and oven delivered today along with the radiators and water softener (which was meant to be delivered last week!)
Monday 8th October
A quieter week this week.
Robbie the decorator popped in Monday lunchtime just to make sure everything was clear and ready for him to get in and do the mist coat. Some equipment and materials were lying around so these would need to be moved. Frustratingly, we had been asked to clear out the utility into the garage room. Luckily we had kept stuff in the middle of the room, which was just as well and Robbie needed access to the walls! Would have been better for the room to be kept clear though!
Jimmy, Bobby and Jay popped by late afternoon to try and figure out what was going on with the velux window. Window was repointed in and fingers crossed that everything was now sorted. Both rooms also cleared of materials and equipment.
First of the kitchen appliances also arrived today. The hob!
