Friday 8th June

Noisy day today as the digger was in action digging the foundations and where the drainage would be going from the new kitchen area.  Everything was moving rather quickly until they hit the foundations for the old conservatory.

Thursday 7th June

Every time I popped out of the house with tea and coffee today, more people had arrived.  By lunchtime, we had six people on site!  All the brickwork and flooring of the conservatory now removed … skips filled and rubble piled up on the front lawn awaiting for a grabber to come and retrieve.

Wednesday 6th June

Well, the contract has been signed and on the extension started today.  Our head builder is Andy and will be working with us on this extension.  Just the two guys on site today … and a very simple coffee order: coffee, white no sugar for them both!

It took 3-4 weeks for the conservatory to go up … and just half a day for the frame to come down! Oh, and we’ve had a portaloo delivered (the guys moved it from its original position on the road!) along with some toys!

Tuesday 5th June

Well, it looks as though tomorrow is D-Day – quite appropriate really as it’s the anniversary of the D-Day landings in 1944.  Some photos of the conservatory before it gets knocked down.

Monday 4th June

Reality of the work we’re having done is setting in – two skips arrived bright and early this morning, in anticipation of the building work starting sometime this week.
