Most of the roof structure completed today and the steel put in place under the ridge. Holes where the velux windows will go have also been formed. Will be fixed in place at the gable end once the brickwork is completed next week.
We also had the first real rain of the project. A sharp downpour about 3pm sent Steve and Dean running for their cars. At least it got rid of a lot of dust off our cars!!
More brickwork being finished early next week so the carpenter could come back and sort the facsias out.

We were having a small hip roof in place under Callum’s bedroom window (hopefully he won’t think this is his slide!).

The extension is really starting to take shape now with the work starting on the roof. Carpenter would be on site for the rest of the week.

How the three guys carried the lintel around and lifted it into place, I really don’t know. Typically the rest of the crew arrived 5 minutes after they had finished.
Brickwork continued so it could all be completed today ready for the carpenter to arrive in the morning.

The lintel had arrived late on Friday – the guys had to go and collect as Buildbase were delivering quick enough!
The guys turned up to do the brickwork and discovered the steel/lintel that had been delivered was taller than expected. Back to the architect who redid some calculations and got everything to work together.
Workmen back on site to continue tomorrow.
